Mal & Jenny Watts

Mal and Jenny began working with SIM in 2001. After an initial period in France for language learning, they moved to the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, where SIM’s administration office is located. They are part of the team assisting to facilitate the effective ministry of other missionaries within SIM Burkina. Mal as Finance Manager has responsibility for the area finances, health centres and various other projects.  He is often travelling in country to audit the various projects and support local management. He also travels to other SIM countries to audit offices and help where offices are short of skilled finance people. He is currently the Ouaga station manager with oversight for the missionaries located in Ouagadougou with SIM.  His role and that of the area administration office ensure that fellow workers can give as much time as possible to their ministry roles.  Mal is a deacon at their local church and does some preaching and bible studies with the churches.
Jenny is working as a lab scientist in two mission health centres for other mission organisations.  At the Navigators clinic she is the lab manager and has been the key in getting it operational and also training lab assistants.  In the other clinic she is assisting in the laboratory work and also goes out once week on a mobile clinic to the edge of Ouagadougou.  In between times she has been managing the guest house and doing some English home school for our girls.  Erinn (7) and Alicia (5) are both attending the French school in Ouagadougou.
Through all this they pray that God’s Word will continue to be made known in Burkina, so that people will be brought into a living relationship with Jesus.
