Ian & Betty Rowse

From 1961–1986, Ian and Betty worked in Papua New Guinea for A.P.C.M. They were married in Papua New Guinea in 1964. From 1986–1989, Ian was Associate Director of A.P.C.M. in Melbourne. They returned to Tari, PNG from 1989–1994 where Ian was Mission Liaison Officer. In 1995, Ian took up the role of Director of A.P.C.M. in Australia. In 1997, A.P.C.M. combined with another mission to become Pioneers of Australia. Ian became the first Director. In late 1999, in Pioneers, they took up a new role - giving oversight to Pioneers personnel working in North Africa and the Middle East. This involved considerable travel to encourage workers in these hard and challenging areas with a focus on Muslim people.

Ian works with Special Projects and spends 3 or 4 days a week in the National Office.  Betty prepares monthly prayer notes for Pioneers of Australia.   Ian visits PNG regularly to encourage the church there.
