Senior Pastor - Steve Messer
Steve Messer is married to Jenny and they have four adult children, Jess, Andy, Sal and Tom. Steve trained as a secondary school teacher and taught first in Nhill, in western Victoria, before settling and teaching in the Warragul district. Steve and the family began attending Community Church Warragul in 1986 after moving to the area and in 2003 commenced pastoral work there part-time. In 2004 he commenced full-time work for the church, leaving school teaching to help prepare his new congregation for the biggest examination of their lives!
Steve’s other interests include song-writing and performing on harmonica, mandolin and slide guitar with his band Strange Country, with whom he has released three albums of original material. Click here to view the band’s web-site.
He also enjoys reading and gardening and tries not to be too upset when the Melbourne Football Club loses!
Youth Pastor - Glen Treble
Glen is married to Jenny and they have three children; Jaziah, Mia and Indianna. Glen has been employed at the church since the beginning of 2005, although he and Jenny have a long history of youth work at the church, having been involved in the youth leadership team for more than 10 years. Glen came from the teaching profession, having taught primary aged students. As much as he loved working in the school environment and with primary aged kids, he saw a need to work with teenagers and share his love of Christ with them.
Outside of Youth Ministries, Glen enjoys spending time with his young family and being in the great outdoors. Glen also enjoys singing and is involved in the music ministry at CCW.
Children's Pastor - Wendy Ronalds
Wendy Ronalds is married to Peter and they have two primary aged children, Joshua and Sarah.
Wendy has been coming to Community Church since 1995 which is where she met Peter, who started attending the church when it was still meeting in houses in the early 1980’s.
Wendy commenced as Children’s Pastor in December 2007.
Wendy has a long history of working with children. She spent 10 years on the Craigieburn Scripture Union Family Mission, has taught CRE in local schools and prior to this taught primary school children for 10 years.
Wendy’s heartfelt desire is to make the most of every opportunity we have in all of our kids programs and beyond to share the love of Christ with all we meet.
When not thinking about Children’s Ministry, Wendy enjoys looking after her family, going for long walks, reading thick books and going on camping holidays.
